How to Add Friends in GTA Online

There are two ways to add friends in GTA Online: either add them while you’re in-game or add them on your browser on the Rockstar Games Social Club website.

Before you can add friends, you must first create a Social Club account. To help you with that, we have provided a step-by-step guide on how to create one:

First, visit the official Social Club website.
Then, create a new account using the “Sign Up” button.
Input your birthdate, then check the box that you read the Rockstar Games Policies & Terms.
Next, fill in your email, password, nickname, and country/region in the boxes below.
Then, you’ll get a verification code in your email and enter it in the space below.

Note: You can also sign in with your PlayStation or Xbox account when you sign up.

Next, choose one of these ways to add more friends in GTA Online:

1. Add Friends While In-Game

In GTA Online, you can find and add friends during your session. First, press the “Home” button to bring up the Social Club dashboard.

Next, click the “Social” tab and select “Find Player“. At the search button, type in the in-game names, select the right ones, and click the “Add Friend” icon next to their name.

2. Add Friends Using Browser

Alternatively, you can add friends by accessing the browser. This option helps avoid being idle in-game, which can prevent you from getting kicked out of online sessions due to inactivity.

First, go to the Rockstar Games Social Club website, log in, and click on the search button at the top right of the screen, next to your account.

Toggle the “Members” button, then type the name of your friend in the space provided, and press “Enter“.

Find your friend’s account from the result, then click on the three dots beside their name and click “Add Friend“.
