Write-Off is one of five Fooligan Jobs in GTA Online. Start by requesting work from Dax via phone after unlocking The Freakshop.
Each Fooligan Job can be initiated once every 48 minutes (one real-life day).

Write-Off Mission Brief
Destroy three Merryweather packages traveling across Los Santos and Paleto Bay to reveal the hideout. Alternatively, head to the hideout once you have intel and annihilate everything.
Recommendations
- Bring lots of Snacks and Armor.
- Use powerful guns to finish the mission quickly.
- Use armored vehicles to minimize damage.
Destroy the Merryweather Transport
Dax instructs you to destroy three of five Merryweather assets around the map:
- Canis Mesa
- BF Dune FAV
- HVY Nightshark or HVY Insurgent Pick-Up
- Nagasaki Buzzard Attack Chopper
- Nagasaki Weaponized Dinghy
If you’re a beginner, head to one of the following locations:
Dax will send you those coordinates, but save time and board the Sparrow armed with homing missiles.
Start hunting the target vehicles if you own Oppressor Mk II, Sparrow, or Vigilante.
Remember: Tail their back before firing the missile. Otherwise, it’ll miss.
Go to the Merryweather Depot
After destroying the third transport, Dax will update your radar of the main HQ:
- Elysian Island
- Cape Catfish
- Sandy Shores
Go with a land vehicle since Merryweather has anti-aircraft defenses. Entering the vicinity with an aircraft will kill you instantly.
Eliminate the Merryweather Operation
During Write-Off in GTA Online, some Merryweather personnel will use the HVY Insurgent Pick-Up’s mounted .50 machine gun. Take them out first, as the caliber can pierce your Personal Vehicle’s armor if necessary upgrades aren’t taken.
Several targets will pop up on your radar. Don’t destroy them yet.
If you have access to Sticky Bombs, place five of them. We recommend saving the HVY Insurgent Pick-Up so you can use it against enemy reinforcements. Mount the .50 machine gun by holding your “Enter Vehicle” key. Once ready, blow up the Sticky Bombs.
Enemy reinforcements in Valkyrie, Insurgent Pick-Up, and Rumpo Custom will arrive.
Take down the Insurgent Pick-Up first, as it can dish a lot of damage. Ground Merryweather units are also present, armed with high-caliber rifles. Eliminate the Valkyries next.
After wiping out the first reinforcement, expect two more waves to appear. All targets are also guarded, so be careful.
Leave the Area
Use any vehicle and leave to complete Write-Off in GTA Online.
Note: Assuming not all Merryweather reinforcements survived, you can just ignore them and leave.
Rewards for Completing Write-Off in GTA Online
Rockstar Games is generous enough to give a 2x bonus for Fooligan Jobs this week, so you’ll earn $100,000 and 2,000 RP for completing Write-Off.
While you can restart every 48 minutes, it’s not guaranteed to repeat, and other missions may commence.
