Rockstar Games, the developer behind the Grand Theft Auto series, has officially announced the ending of support for Windows 7 and 8.
Let’s see why Rockstar made this decision!
Rockstar Games Ending Support for Windows 7 and 8
Rockstar Games has announced that they will no longer be supporting Windows 7 and Windows 8 as of January 30, 2024.
Rockstar made this decision because Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 7 in 2020 and Windows 8 in 2021.
Rockstar Support recommends players using these old operating systems upgrade to supported systems like Windows 10 or 11.
What Happens If You Don’t Upgrade?
If you own any Games on the Rockstar Games Launcher and use Windows 7 or 8, they will no longer be playable until you upgrade to the latest operating system.
Steam is also dropping support for Windows 7 and 8 on January 1, 2024, following Rockstar’s decision to do the same for these outdated operating systems.
To find out if your computer can run the latest version of Windows 11, you can check its compatibility by visiting Microsoft.
