One of the most common questions related to the ocean in GTA 5 is how far it is from the shore, which raises the curiosity of many GTA lovers.
In this guide, we’ll show you how far the ocean goes in GTA 5 and what happens when you reach the maximum limit of the ocean.
How Far Does The Ocean Go In GTA 5?
Visually, the ocean in GTA 5 appears limitless. However, according to a source, the farthest distance you can reach from the shore in the ocean is 22,000 feet.
Thankfully, most missions or events we play in GTA 5 are near the seashore (except for diving to find the collectibles or wrecks).
However, you can use any boat or personal watercraft to discover the ocean. While the game allows you to do so, there’s still a limitation.
Specifically, the image above shows that GTA restricts your distance from the shore. The location we circle in red is the farthest distance you can reach with your vehicle.
When you reach locations further than 22,000 feet, your vehicle is forced to malfunction and sink, leaving you in the ocean and increasing the risk of being attacked by sharks.
Even if you try to swim, sharks will appear and chase you. If you get attacked, you’ll be “wasted” and sent back to the hospital as usual.
Clearly, there’s no way to surpass the game’s limit, and any attempt to do so may cause the game to crash.
