FiveM Will Remove Real-world Cars From GTA RP!

Some players enjoy playing GTA RP with real-life cars because it creates the illusion of owning them for real. But this is coming to an end.

FiveM Is No Longer Accept Real-World Cars

FiveM has updated its policies and will no longer feature real-world cars in GTA RP since they now belong to Rockstar Games. Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM, has issued a “statement” detailing the platform’s policy changes.

To comply with copyright laws, creators are not allowed to use real-world car models and badges in the new Platform License Agreement issued by Cfx.re.

They explained that changing the car’s badge is good, but real-world car models must also be removed.

FiveM real-world cars removed

This is a major topic in the GTA RP community, as some players have paid real money to use real-world cars on the servers they play on.

Now, the responsibility for compensation will be with the seller of the mod vehicle, not FiveM or Rockstar.

How About Importing maps from GTA IV?

Cfx.re has also made it clear that importing maps from other games into FiveM, such as Liberty City from GTA IV into GTA RP, is not allowed.

The statement says: “We do not support combining IP or assets from other games into FiveM, regardless of whether developed by Rockstar or someone else.”

Development Update

As per Cfx.re, the developers have been working hard discussing, documenting, and improving development processes for web services and game clients.

Since Rockstar’s acquisition, the main focus has been to increase platform stability, resulting in a 99.9% uptime and fewer player issues.

  1. 1000% agree , I don’t even want to play anymore now that they removed my Audi etron, fucking stupid move. Rockstar has more money than God, why not just pay license fees to keep us happy? (They don’t care)

    • This is not how it works lol, the car brands got to accept to be in the game and i highly doubt any car brand would like to be related to a game where you commit crime, kill cops and runover pedestrian. But hey, who knows right.

  2. Creating a 3D copy of a real-world car and using it in a game, such as on a FiveM server, may still infringe on intellectual property rights, even if you personally own the physical car. The design of a car, including its specific features, can be protected by copyright, trademark, or design patents, and creating a replica in a virtual environment might violate these rights.

Even if your friends gave you permission to use the car in a game, it’s essential to ensure that they have the necessary rights to grant such permissions. They may own the physical car, but the design and brand associated with it might be protected by different rights held by the car manufacturer.

Using copyrighted or trademarked material without permission can lead to legal issues, including potential lawsuits for intellectual property infringement. It’s advisable to consult with a legal professional to get specific advice tailored to your situation and jurisdiction to ensure that you are not inadvertently violating any intellectual property rights.

Great, just great some powerful servers in FiveM like ”Impulse99” just removed real vehicles and Rockstar made this game less play, why just don’t pay goddamn license then keep add-on real cars, a few minutes ago im entered in server and it says ”we removed real cars, but added 450 brand cars better than old” i just tested all of theese and no one is fun like primer Police Cruiser from Need for Speed Most Wanted 2005, i feel bored during play the game… just thank you Rockstar Games and Cfx.re, i will never run this game, keep acting like Valve with cs2 and you will lose more players than anyone can think and imagine.

  5. Yes but this is a tricky situation for Rockstar where they have to tread carefully or server owners could countersue.
Okay, so yes, the law does clearly state that things like cars that are copyright protected, can not be used without the express, written permission of the owner of the copyrighted material and any use without said permission, does violate the terms of the copyright law and the violators are subject to legal remedies.

However, there are a lot of other factors that have to go into this too.
The biggest one is, under the copyright and trademark laws, Rockstar and the copyright owner would have to prove you were using the copyrighted material for profit. So if you have a server with an Audi in it, one or both would have to prove that either:
    A) You made and are selling the model for your own financial gain
    B) You placed the car in the server because someone paid you too
    C) Your server accepts donations and those funds were explicitly used to
    buy said cars
    D) People are donating to your server exclusively because you have that car
    in your game.

Another big factor is, there are 28,000 Five-M servers on the network. Let’s say only 20,000 of them are actually being used. Someone is going to have to sit there, even as a team, and sort through 20,000 servers and look for these cars. I don’t know anyone that wants that mind numbing job.

Oh, automation you say to look for car names? Oh okay…. In my vehicle.lua file, I’ve renamed all of the cars to something wild. Say a Ford Raptor F-150. Let’s say I rename it to a Drof Carnivore F100. The program to find said car names would now be rendered obsolete.

And for car manufacturers finding these cars, I mean c’mon. I don’t know many, if any, car executives that play GTA V let alone Five M. Even if they did, do they really want to hurt their business? If a really popular server with 1000 members is using real cars, with 200 people streaming the game and Ford sees their cars in their game being used heavily, would they really want to hurt free promotion? I mean if 200 people are streaming and each of those streamers has 20 people watching, they just got free promotion to 4000 people. Add on that say, 2000 servers had these same statistics, they just promoted their cars to 8,000,000 people. Even if only 1% of those people that saw these cars in that game or stream, went out and bought one of them, Ford just sold 80,000 cars. At an average of around $40000 per car, of course some higher and some lower, Ford just sold $3.3 BILLION worth of cars. Net profit somewhere around around $1.5 Billon.

Yeah I think letting people use a few cars in a game is worth it at the end of the day. What are they really worried about? People are using digitally created assets to promote your business and have fun. They’re not building the actual cars themselves. Look on youtube for new mustang Eleanor build or something like that. Dude took a 60′ Mustang Body, put it on a new Mustang frame with a nice new engine and was making it look like the Eleanor mustang. He got sued, they took the car and 6 months later he won his lawsuit and his got his car back because he was able to prove with the frame being different and the drivetrain, that the vehicle was more than 30% different from the original.

Or better example the NFL. Most of you probably don’t know the term SuperBowl is copyright protected. Literally written in copyright and just saying the name can get you sued. Literally saying you’re having a SuperBowl party can get you sued and they would win. Yet they won’t because as soon as they do, the word would get out how the NFL is and who knows what would happen. I can guarantee they would at least lose some fan bases, especially for teams that make it to the bowl more often than not.

  6. I’ll make sure myself and everyone I know no longer touches this game if this is taken out of every server go pay the license fee to have the cars in servers or burn your own empire because there goes a major portion of the player base just from taking the cars away
