GTA Online, on the other hand, is primarily focused on providing an open-world multiplayer experience. It features various activities, missions, heists, and modes that you can participate in with your custom-created characters.

While GTA Online has some mission-based content and events that players can engage in, these tend to be more diverse and less narrow, unlike what’s on GTA 5.

Besides, it’s worth mentioning that Rockstar has stopped updating GTA 5 since 2015, while the online version keeps updating regularly.
