The Yeti in GTA Online (Overview)
Inspired by the real-life Bigfoot, the Yeti is a large, bipedal humanoid covered in hair. It’s first introduced after receiving a message from Tanner, the Sasquatch Hunter (also featured in GTA 5 Story Mode).
The monstrosity will attack on sight, attempting to kill you. However, triggering this event requires you to find all five clues in order first.
All Clues in the Map
In order, you must find the following:
- Body parts
- Bloodied tent
- Torn shirt
- Car wreck
- Dead deer
Getting near one of the clues to find the hairy monster will play an eerie sound of a slow heartbeat. Afterward, pressing your “interact” button will progress you through the investigation.
Important: You’ll have to make space if riding a vehicle (or if it obstructs the clue).
1. Body Parts
This one’s near a fallen tree branch. Sometimes, there are abandoned cars nearby. Take a look at the photo below for its precise location.
2. Bloodied Tent
This clue requires you to get to a hill. The blue tent is bloodied, although it shouldn’t be hard to miss with the snapshot below.
3. Torn Shirt
The Torn Shirt is near a destroyed car. It’ll be hard to see at night, but you’ll hear the heartbeat sound effect if it’s nearby.
4. Car Wreck
Go under the bridge to find the car wreck near a huge tree. You won’t miss it.
5. Dead Deer
The final clue is the Dead Deer. You may have to cross the river without your Personal Vehicle. Regardless, inspecting the evidence will finish the investigation.
Wrapping Up: Killing the Yeti
After collecting the fifth piece of evidence, you’ll be instructed to return to Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness between 21:00 and 06:00 for the Yeti to spawn. However, feel free to stay within the Search Zone.
A red skull icon will appear on the radar once the Abominable Snowman is active. It’ll charge to you on sight to kill. Once you’re hit, you’ll die, as you won’t be able to fight back.
Tip: Albeit tenacious, shooting the beast gets the job done. If you’re extra crazy, give it a good beating. But don’t let it touch you!
After the Yeti’s death, it won’t spawn anymore, and the Search Zone in Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness will disappear.
Rewards for Completing the Yeti Hunt in GTA Online
Each clue gives $10,000 and 1000 RP, totaling $50,000 and 5000 RP for all pieces of evidence. Moreover, defeating the Yeti rewards you with $50,000 transferred to your Maze Bank Account. You’ll also get the Yeti Outfit as a bonus.
The free costume is accessible at the “Outfits: Festive” in your Wardrobe.
