Recently, the gaming community has been buzzing with controversy about the release of GTA 6’s trailer. Many were hoping it might drop sometime this year.
However, while this information remains unclear, there’s potentially disappointing news for PC gamers: GTA 6 is predicted to be released later than on consoles.
All About GTA 6 PC Release Delay
According to Tez2, a credible account on GTA Forums known for providing accurate and precise information about Rockstar games, there is a possibility that GTA 6 may be released on PC at a later date than on consoles.
Through his comments, this guy has claimed to have heard from “various sources that the devs expect VI PC release to happen after citing more time needed”.
In other words, the release of GTA 6 on PC will be later than on other platforms because they believe more development time is required.
To dive deeper into the details, these issues are primarily technical problems, as gaming on PC tends to have more bugs than consoles.
In a different comment, Tez2 also mentioned that “it’s really all down to technical reasons”. If Rockstar could release it on the first day, they would.
In fact, Rockstar has followed a similar pattern in the past. Returning to the release of GTA 5, it initially launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17, 2013. It wasn’t until April 14, 2015, that the PC version was released.
In response to the delay, Rockstar explained that the PC version required more time and effort to develop than the console versions, even though they shared similar underlying architecture.
This extra time was dedicated to ensuring the PC version would meet the high quality and performance expected by PC gamers.
