While the release of GTA 6 remains unknown, it’s undoubtedly on its way. However, a recent buzz in the gaming community surrounded GTA 6’s age rating, leaving doubts and confusion about its credibility.
So, what’s the real story behind the scenes?
The Truth About The GTA 6 Age Rating Rumor
A few days ago, rumors started circulating on Reddit when a post appeared about GTA 6 receiving an MA15+ rating from the Australian Classification Board, an organization responsible for deciding what age group a game is suitable for.
MA15+ means the game is generally meant for players who are 15 and older.
However, here’s the thing: submitting a classification doesn’t require any official authorization but simply a fee.
In other words, anyone can do this without going through a complex process, and it takes only a short time to complete the submission and pass the procedure. Therefore, GTA 6’s age rating is suspected of being a prank pulled by someone.
Thanks to the investigation by PCGamesN, it turns out that the submission of GTA 6’s age rating on the Australian Classification Board was fake.
Currently, the listing has been removed from the website. Moreover, the classification board has clarified that they haven’t received any official information regarding the release date of GTA 6.
GTA 5 was rated as M17+ by the ESRB, also known as the Entertainment Software Rating Board.
Given the anticipation surrounding GTA 6’s content, which is expected to include heists, violence, and mature themes, its age rating may well be on par with GTA 5.
